As part of our calling to Love God and Love Neighbor, TURN (Teaching Understanding Reaching Neighbors) is our opportunity to partner with schools, staff, and students. Our mission field includes Lufkin Middle School located directly across Denman Avenue from our church, Anderson Elementary School, Lydia Patterson Institute in El Paso, and more.

Through TURN, we offer a presence by greeting students every day as they get off the bus and enter the school. We assist teachers with different events, collect supplies that are needed, write prayer cards for staff, and host events on our church campus. Each fall, we open our doors to provide a Back to School Breakfast for all staff of LMS and Anderson Elementary. We also provide volunteers for the Red Carpet event on the first day of school. On Fridays, our volunteers transport backpacks of food from CISC to LMS for students who need food over the weekend.

An Evening in Old Bethlehem

Bring your family, join your friends and step 2,000 years into the past, as we recreate the old city of Bethlehem. As you stroll the streets of the ancient marketplace, you’ll see how the residents lived and worked. You’ll meet the inhabitants of the town where Jesus was born and learn about the crafts and skills of olden times. Your visit will become especially significant as you experience the joy of the Nativity.

An Evening in Old Bethlehem will be held on Friday December 2 & Saturday December 3 from 6:00 PM – 8:00PM at the George H. Henderson Expo Center in Lufkin.
